Troops Kill '32 Insurgents ― Including Top Boko Haram Commander' ― in Borno

32 terrorists, including one Abu Illiya, a senior Boko Haram commander, are said to have been killed by operation Hadin Kai troops in Borno.

The rebels were reportedly slain in an operation in the state's Konduga LGA, according to Zagazola Makama, a journal that focuses on the Lake Chad region.

According to the article, the soldiers ran upon the rebels in Yuwe while conducting a counteroffensive patrol.

In certain known Boko Haram hideouts in Kayamari, Habasha, and Yuwe villages, it was learned that the forces accomplished the exploits during vigorous fighting patrols led by intelligence, according to the publication.

As a result of the counter-offensive patrol in Yuwe that was conducted by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist and security analyst in Lake Chad, the forces came into touch with the terrorists.

According to the sources, the soldiers were able to beat the Boko Haram terrorists, while the others were alleged to have fled in disorder as a result of the soldiers' overwhelming firepower, leaving behind their possessions and weapons.

In addition, 50 bicycles found in terrorists' hideouts were burned by the army.

Recent efforts by Nigerian forces to destroy insurgent organizations have been ongoing.
